    Introduction:
    The BCODcr-20 fully automatic chemical oxygen demand (dichromate method) analyzer is an analytical system independently developed and produced by Beijing Baode Instrument Co., Ltd. for measuring chemical oxygen demand in water. The instrument is designed completely in accordance with the standard (HJ828-2017), and the entire measurement process fully meets the requirements of the standard. The potassium dichromate method is used to determine the chemical oxygen demand in water. The whole machine adopts an integrated design, with a reasonable structure, automatic completion of reagent addition, stable performance, intelligent detection, and accurate data.
    Instrument principle:
    The potassium dichromate method involves adding a known amount of potassium dichromate solution to a water sample, and using silver salt as a catalyst in a strong acid medium. After boiling and refluxing, the unreduced potassium dichromate in the water sample is titrated with ferrous ammonium sulfate using ferrous spirit as an indicator. The mass concentration of oxygen consumed is calculated based on the amount of potassium dichromate consumed.
    According to the standard HJ 828-2017, the instrument automatically adds mercury sulfate solution and potassium dichromate standard solution to the water sample in sequence, and adds silver sulfate sulfuric acid solution from the upper opening of the condenser tube, maintaining a slight boiling reflux for 2 hours. After cooling down, pure water is automatically added from the upper opening of the condenser tube. After reaching room temperature, ferrous sulfate indicator is added, and ferrous ammonium sulfate is used for automatic titration. The titration endpoint is automatically recognized and judged, and the software automatically calculates the chemical oxygen demand of the water sample. And the instrument realizes the simultaneous and independent determination of high and low concentration samples, without cross contamination, and the data is stable and accurate.
